Cathedral of St. Peter School
New State of Illinois Scholarship for Private Schools:
Effective with the 2018-19 school year, the State of Illinois is providing scholarships for families to attend private schools, such as Cathedral of St. Peter. For a family to receive this scholarship their income cannot exceed 300% of the poverty level. For example, for a family of 4 this amoun is $73,800. Families are encouraged to have already enrolled for the 2018-19 school year at the private school they wish for their child/children to attend. To assist families with this application process, Cathedral of St. Peter School will have registration for new families with children in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 8th on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at school from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm. Registration will be held at the school office. A family will need to pay only the registration fee of $50/child ($140 max for a family at the time of registration). Students currently enrolled at another school will need to provide a copy of the first quarter report card for this year, and a statement from their school that their child/children are in good standing, and that all medical records are current.
Families may apply for this scholarship beginning January 1, 2018, at the Illinois Department of Revenue website http://www.revenue.state.il.us/. The scholarship is part of the Invest in Kids Act. Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
