The Society of St. Vincent DePaul describes itself as "a network of friends, inspired by the Gospel, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need." We are well aware of Jesus' constant emphasis on how we are feeding, comforting, and assisting Him when we are doing these things for the least of the brothers and sisters.
The Society was founded by Blessed Frederic Ozanam, who was inspired by the great work and legacy of St. Vincent de Paul. It is an organization of women and men who join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. Their works of charity are nurtured by prayer, reflection, mutually supportive gatherings, and adherence to the rule of society. The Vincentians, as the members of the society, are called, strive to see in those they serve the face of Christ.
The Cathedral of St. Peter conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and on the fourth Sunday of the month after the 7:30 Mass in the library just in front of the Fellowship Hall. We need as many of you as can spare the time to help with this vital work.
St. Anne's Society is a group of Cathedral Parish Ladies who volunteer and provide many services to our parish. Services that the ladies offer would be serving funeral luncheons, calling members to donate desserts for funeral luncheons or other events, sanctuary cleaning, votive 3-day candles, cookie walk, and much, much more!
If interested in joining or volunteering, please contact Barb Lundin at: [email protected]
This group of lovely ladies makes hand-knitted or crocheted shawls hoping to bring some comfort to those who are facing a serious illness. They meet every other month in Fellowship Hall.
If you have a family member or dear friend who is suffering from a serious illness and would like to request a prayer shawl for them, please contact the church office at
